International Safer Internet Day is celebrated every year on the second day of the second week of February, with the aim of promoting and encouraging safer and more responsible use of technology and mobile devices.

So how do you protect yourself from the dangers of the internet? For starters, using secure passwords. The Daily Mail writes that new research has shown that most people still hate to come up with more secure passwords, despite the fact that many of them have been victims of hacker attacks.

Dojo, a London-based card business, analyzed 100,000 passwords cracked, according to the British Government's National Cyber Security Center (NCSC).

"123456", "qwerty" and "password" were found to be the most commonly hacked passwords. "These sequences are very easy to remember and transcend languages and cultures, which makes them a very popular choice of passwords around the world," says Doja.

It has also been established that the names of pets or sympathetic expressions such as "love", "baby" and "angel" are among the most frequently hacked passwords. The list also includes passwords that include animal names, colors or swear words.

Experts call for the use of more complicated passwords, with unique combinations of letters and numbers, with the use of two-step authentication (2FA). 2FA requires the user to provide additional information with the password, such as a code sent via text message.
